COMMUNITY VS COMMODITY
Local Comic Shop Day® is shifting from its traditional variant-driven sales day to an entire campaign of events that will celebrate the role comic book shops play in their communities. Comic stores are more than just places to buy comics—they are cultural hubs where creativity thrives, friendships are formed, and stories come to life. Our mission is to highlight the unique impact of local comic shops, support these small businesses, and bring fans, creators, and retailers together.

COOPERATIVE MARKETING
Industry wide social media push from retailers, publishers, and creators to increase awareness of LCSD. "Shop Local. Shop Nerdy. Local Comic Shop Day."   Additionally, monies raised by registration fees will go to joint Facebook Advertising targetting zip codes of participating stores.

LCSD CATALOG
A catalog of LCSD offerings - exclusives, freebies, backlist sale information, and open order items.   See attached 2025 LCSD Catalog.  This is a live document and will keep changing as we have more participation.

EVENT MATERIALS
Extensive materials to help participating retailers host community building events.    (Videos, pre-written press releases, signage and sale ideas, marketing assets, instructions for running kid-friendly scavenger hunts, and much much more).   Here's a sample video, for example, aimed at helping retailers invite creators to their stores.  A 50+ page Retailer Event and Marketing Guide will be emailed soon to participating retailers.

NEW LOGO

The new logo, designed by Tim Daniel, writer and designer known for his work at Vault Comics and independent titles industry-wide spanning the last 20 years, reflects the idea of comic shops as a part of a neighborhood, while also invoking the small business feel.

OFFICIAL AMBASSADORS

Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum are the official Amabassadors for Local Comic Shop Day® 2025.  They will help publicize the day.
